Dear All,
The following is written on the behalf of the family and friends of Tan Jun
Jie, Jordan from MBIO, Year 2, Ngee Ann Polytechnic.
Some of you will know that Jordan was hospitalised on 10 February 2009 due
to a suspected viral infection. He has a blood clot in his brain but is
unable to continue on with the required operation due to a low platelet
count (meaning that wounds will not heal fast enough).
We currently need, urgently, B+ and O Platelet donations as one bag of
platelets costs $25, 000. An earlier operation has already set the family
back by $100, 000.
If you are interested in helping us, please contact the students below (by
SMS) or e-mail to kty1@np.edu.sg. Donations may be needed by this weekend.
When contacting them or me, please provide your Full Name, I/C No.,
Contact No., Age and Blood Type. The students are compiling a list of
potential donors which will be passed on to the NUH Blood Donation Centre.
You will then receive a call from the NUH Blood Donation Centre if and when
they need the platelets. They will also ask you a few questions to confirm
your compatibility before donation.
Additional Information:
- Platelet Donation takes about 90 minutes.
IMPORTANT: PLEASE mention that it is for Jordan Tan Jun Jie (IC No
S9010111J).
Buses to NUH available: 95 (from Buona Vista MRT), 97, 197, 198, 963 and
963E.
Alternative Route: Alight at Dover MRT Station and board the NUH Shuttle
Bus to the Main Lobby.
