Yesterday went to Sentosa for Amazing Race organized by our own Wheelock Event Committee Team.. I heard of Amazing race but to personally participate in one, was a totally uhm.. awesome thing, I guess... And I did not harbor any thought of winning or stuff like that.. I am really just out to have our last fun together. It was a really great race for us to know more about Cohort 3 and also, a last fun journey for Cohort 2..
I joined the race as an individual player for the chance of grouping with ppl in my cohort that I never have the chance to work with throughout our two years in Wheelock College..
I'm glad I did!
At the start of ytd, met Izzy when I was on the way to Vivo.. And she cheekily asked me whether I know who's in my team.. In the end, she told me that she was one of them..
Which was so cool! And then she continued with two other friends' name.. hahas.. My immediate reaction was, 'Are you serious?!' I kept joking about stuff like them holding umbrella on the beach and complaining abt the running and weather.. (And they really did so during the race, holding umbrella while walking on the beach thing was the most classic! LOL) But I was really out to have fun and not exactly to compete with others..
Two other members from the other cohort joined our team, and the first word that they said to us after introducing themselves was, 'We are here to win the race!', fulled of enthusiasm! hahas.. My immediately reaction was 'Oh! We are here to win the race too!' hahas.. I can't believe I said that.. But I guess, it kinda heighten the spirit of the team.. Not forgetting that my other two teammates were whining..
Surprisingly, We leaded the first round.. Everyone was shocked! The other players and the organizers.. hahas.. me included.. 1 of my teammate was so confident, and jokingly mentioning that there isnt a need to be worried about since we are leading. Another mentionedabout the hare and the tortoise story immediately..
And true enough, the curse came true.. Different teams overtook us at different part of the race.. But the encouragement from one another kept the team going..
It was totally crazy running and 'swimming' around Sentosa under the scotching hot sun! And randomly grabbing tourist was perhaps the most crazy stuff I did, apart from the random dancing act.. Bet the tourist was super happy about it, surrounded by girls! And he happily requested for a group shot at the end of the task..
Anyway with the running and touring in Sentosa, I think I can work at Sentosa as a tour guide, like seriously.. I know Sentosa like my own home..
Thanks to SPF 120 sunblock lotion or I'll prob have suffered from a bad sunburn.. And in the process of racing, I injured my foot. But not wanting to dampen my team's morale, I kept mum about it until towards the end.. I'm glad I did, because I had never see my other two members/coursemates so enthusiastic before.. Touching sight! :D
In the end, a totally, unbelievable big surprise! We came in FIRST at the end of the race! Yeah, totally unbelievable.. I thought that I was going to die in the race :P We won vouchers from Ben&Jerry, Isetan and alot of tibits.. yeahness..
First! :D
No doubt, I really had lots of fun! But no way am I going to do it again, cause it's totally crazyyy and crazzy and crazzy! But it was a great one to end off this Wheelock Journey.. you guys rock to the max :D
Some of us stayed behind after the event due to the heavy downpour shortly after the race.. Even when everyone left, a group of us girls stayed behind and played captain's ball.. So old school.. I was the 'catcher' as I can't run anymore with my injured foot..
While we were playing, a group of guys challenge us to a game.. I mean initiate a game with us. The enthusiastic me :P quickly agreed to it.. Sorry girls for my over-enthu! But I did pre-warned the girls to be careful cause the opponent team seemed strong and were make up of the majority - guys. Very likely they might play rough. Imagine having us 6 girls, with an additional guy and girl joining us compared to the other team who had at least 5 guys and 2 girls.
hahas.. And I think those words really helped, magically! Cause in the end it was my girls who were playing rough! LOL.. I heard that they stamped on their opponents' foot, hit their chest, face, back and stuff.. hahas.. ok, it was accidentally :P
Seeing their enthusiasm, the 'pai-ka' me, a nickname given by the fellow who joined our team, decided to be really enthu too.. Managed to catch hold of most of the scoring by my team without a care for my foot.. But I think I can go and join the national team after the game.. hahahahas~
Idiotic Act.. hahas.. Cause I wanted to 'dance in the rain'..
And yeah.. Lady luck was really shinning on me ytd.. We won with 15-11.. :P
Winners :D
All these memories reminded me of secondary school days in many ways.. Like the picnic I had with Chiaz at Sentosa, and we girls hugging together under the hut in the heavy downpour which was directly in front of the same pavilion that we were gathering ytd.. And now, I had another good memory to add on :D
loves~
We bathed, cont to hang out at vivo before going home, bathed again and knockout totally!
Woke up with aching body and slightly swollen foot.. Mum said I looked like a big gorilla, specially the way I was limping and moving ard.. achnessss go away~ Don't spoil my holiday! ♥ a butterfly landed @
